Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a 34 year old Signal Electrician, love the outdoors but also love spending some quality time at home by the pool with my girls Natalie and Clover.
I run a small railway signal electrical business that keeps me busy and plenty of travel throughout New South Wales.
When I’m not on the water or working, I normally find myself trying get a sneaky round of golf in
How did your fishing journey begin?
I have always enjoyed fishing from a young age, I would always hassle my dad, Nev (one of my dad’s best mates) or my Pop to take me out for a fish! Growing up, I did competitive field archery which gave me a good taste for competition.
I also loved watching AFC (Australian Fishing Championships). I wanted to combine the competitive environment of archery and my passion for lure fishing.
I searched for local tournaments and my passion from the sport grew exponentially from there! I fished many tournaments as a co-angler to hone my skills and bought my first boat in 2018 which pushed me to fish in the boater ranks. I haven’t looked back since!
What does representing Australia mean to you?
To represent Australia is a dream come true. Putting the green and gold colours on and represent my country is a very special achievement. I never would have thought this would be possible when I started, yet here we are.. just goes to show where hard work and passion can get you!
What achievement in fishing are you most proud of?
My proudest achievement would have to be my first ABT grand final win in 2019, it was my first year fishing as a boater. I had second guessed myself whether I was good enough to be there. However, the win reassured me that with some hard work, anything can happen.
What are you most looking forward to about competing in the USA?
I am really looking forward to competing in USA, it would be my dream to fish competitively over there and this will be a taste of that.
America is a beautiful country with some of the best freshwater fishing in the world. Plus, getting to compete against some of the biggest names in the sport I’m so passionate about, is going to be an incredible experience.
